When In Rome

Joe Laureano - Keyboards, Lead Vocals

Joe Laureano has been performing rock-&-roll professionally for his entire adult life. He began his journey graduating from Otterbein College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory & Composition. Since then Joe has accumulated over fifteen years of performing at dueling piano bars, wedding receptions, corporate parties, fundraisers and more. The high demand for his talent has lead Joe to entertain all across the country–from Miami to Seattle, and from Baltimore to San Diego.

Luke Galas - Guitar, Vocals

Luke Galas is an extensively trained classical guitarist, having studied with many great players in the Grand Rapids area and completed GRCC’s performance major program. He has since spent the last several years teaching music and performing in various bands. Luke has always enjoyed playing in different styles and changing things up. With that, he is able to pour all of his technicality and talent into an energetic rock-&-roll show.

Steffan Copenhaver - Bass, Vocals

Steffan Copenhaver has spent the last ten years balancing his life as a performer, music teacher and student - finally earning his Bachelor's of Music Education from Grand Valley State University in 2010. Steffan has always enjoyed collaborating with as many musicians as possible, be it for performance or the recording studio. When he's not takin' the bass for a walk with the When In Rome guys, he's avidly composing original music for both the screen and the stage.

Brian Vannieuwenhoven - Drums, Vocals

Brian Vannieuwenhoven began his professional music career in 2004 after receiving an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army. He began as the substitute drummer at Mojo’s Dueling Piano Bar in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and within a year earned the full-time position as the house drummer. Since then he has established himself as a leader and innovator of drumming in a dueling piano format, and has earned the reputation of being one of the top drummers in the industry.
